Four local companies are benefitting from a chunk of $15.8 million approved by Ohio Third Frontier to fund cutting-edge technologies.
Franklin, Ohio-based NanoDetection Technology was awarded a $1 million loan to help fund the development and commercialization of a product to screen for the MRSA bacterium, which is known to cause a number of infections in humans.
Cincinnati-based MicrobeCapture was awarded a $100,000 grant to commercialize a new, more effective method to diagnose the flu. The company’s diagnostic also indicates which anti-viral drug will best treat a particular strain.
