Bioformix, the Loveland, Ohio-based chemical startup, is changing its name to Sirrus, which the company says better reflects its mission to advance manufacturing through innovations in chemistry.

Sirrus was founded in 2009 and has attracted local investments from the Queen City Angels, CincyTech, The Ohio Third Frontier and Steve Levin of Acara Global. Other investors include Braemar Energy Ventures, Arsenal Venture Partners and Mitsui Global Investment. Sirrus has 32 employees.
