Kapture co-founders Matthew Dooley and Mike Sarow were video chatting with a potential new hire when they noticed something about their hygiene.
“When we saw ourselves on camera, we noticed we both hadn’t shaved (one of the benefits of startup life is selecting your own grooming habits),” Dooley told me in an email. “At first, we made a quick joke to the applicant that she clearly didn’t get the memo that a beard was required. Then Mike chimed in and said, ‘Yeah, we’re not going to shave until we ship our first product.’”
They laughed it off as a joke at first, but then Dooley told Sarow they should do it for real. And that’s how it happened. Kapture isn’t going to shave its collective beard until the company ships its first product.
