Many successful entrepreneurs aspire for years to open their own business before they finally get a chance. But for Karen Cooper, president of SmartIT Staffing in Cincinnati, Ohio, she said “it was almost a necessity.”
“It was not something I dreamed of, planned or wanted to do,” Cooper said.
Being the boss, however, gave her what she needed in a career: A way to make a good living while also caring for her two children, including a son who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
