UD launching $1.5M radar lab to study autonomy, drones and medical uses

University of Dayton is unveiling a new lab for radar research.

The Mumma Radar Laboratory is made possible with $1.5 million in Ohio Third Frontier funding. In it, researchers will use radar to improve sensing for medical imaging and manufacturing, environmental uses and potential autonomous applications. It’ll also be useful to study radar uses for other advanced technology, such as detecting imperfections in 3-D printed objects.
