Boston VC firm settles on Cincinnati after two-year search

Boston-based investment firm Progress Ventures spent the last five years investing in companies in its hometown and in New York, but after a two-year search, the firm chose to branch out and landed on Cincinnati as a city ripe for investment.
The firm made its first investment in a Cincinnati startup last month, leading a $3.5 million Series A round for Lisnr, a startup that embeds inaudible tones in media that are picked up by a smartphone’s microphone and unlock additional content.
