State OKs $5.5M for Dayton-area jobs

Ohio approved nearly $5.5 million in incentives and grants for two companies that plan to bring almost 90 jobs to the Dayton region.
The Emerson Climate Technologies Innovation Center was awarded $5 million in incentives Wednesday from the Ohio Third Frontier to build the proposed $34.5 million facility on University of Dayton property.
The research and training center is expected to create 35 new jobs, said Lisa Colbert, a Third Frontier spokeswoman.
Also Wednesday, the Third Frontier awarded a $495,400 grant to Colorado-based Xerion Advanced Battery Corp. to offset the $1.1 million cost of relocating its headquarters and laboratory operations to the Dayton area.
