Venture for America sends ‘ninja-trained warriors for startups’ to mid-market cities

Modeled after Teach for America, nonprofit Venture for America trains and matches recent college graduates for two-year jobs at emerging technology companies in mid-market cities.

The program expanded to Columbus when it added four cities this year, and five Central Ohio startups have hired fellows.

“They’re like ninja-trained warriors for startups,” said Ray Shealy, serial entrepreneur and TechColumbus board member who hired two of them. TechColumbus organized the effort to bring the New York City organization to Central Ohio.
