Manufacturing is rebounding nationwide, and in Northeast Ohio the uptick is taking shape with new jobs, new businesses and more programs aimed at helping people who make things find new ways to innovate.
That’s good news for an industry that took the biggest hit in the state, losing more employment during the recession than any other sector with a staggering 166,000 jobs lost – or a 20 percent drop. About a third of those jobs are back, making manufacturing a leader in Ohio’s recovery.
