Former Cleveland Cavaliers owner teams up with University Hospitals to fight blindness

The former owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers is teaming up with University Hospitals to fight a condition he knows too well.

Together, the Maryland-based Foundation Fighting Blindness — which is chaired by Gordon Gund, who lost his sight at age 31 — and UH’s Harrington Discovery Institute will contribute up to $50 million in new funding and resources toward an effort that could fund up to 30 scientists developing new drugs designed to treat blindness.
