43North competition awards OSU student’s Genetesis $260K, ‘People’s Choice’ award

Genetesis LLC, a biotech company founded by an 18-year-old Ohio State University student, starts its year of operating in Buffalo, New York, with a $260,000 runway.

Peeyush Shrivastava’s company did not take the top $1 million prize in the 43North business plan competition Thursday, but gets a start in the 43North incubator as one of four $250,000 winners. Genetesis also won the $10,000 People’s Choice award sponsored by Larkin Development Group for getting the most tweets of its hashtag over two weeks.
