An Over-the-Rhine startup called Strap will triple in size to 12 employees and develop a pilot project for the Kroger Co. after landing a $1.25 million seed investment from CincyTech and more than a half-dozen other investors.
Strap relocated to Cincinnati from Mississippi after developing software products that could make it easier to view and optimize data from wearable devices like Fit Bit, Pebble, Apple Watch and Google Glass. Strap graduated from the Brandery startup accelerator in October. It will use its seed funding to develop new products, partnerships and brand relationships, including a new feature that will be tested on Kroger smart phone apps next year.
