Nationwide Children’s gene therapy lands TechColumbus investment

Gene therapy developed at Nationwide Children’s Hospital that has shown early promise in improving muscle strength in children with a form of muscular dystrophy is headed into more clinical trials, bolstered by investments over the past two months from muscular dystrophy foundations and TechColumbus.

Milo Biotechnology Inc. in 2012 became the first spinout from the Center for Gene Therapy at the Columbus hospital’s Research Institute. Two more got licensing deals last year.
