Bruce Caldwell spent nearly three decades leading research teams at Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. and Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE:PG), two of the biggest and oldest companies in Ohio. Now it’s just him, a part-time co-founder, interns and a KitchenAid stand mixer in a year-old startup.
Shortly after leaving Scotts (NYSE:SMG) in 2013, Caldwell licensed agricultural technology – patented microbes, actually – from Ohio State University and OSU professor Brian McSpadden Gardener and founded 3Bar Biologics Inc.
