Nationwide Children’s Hospital triples pace of licensing deals

Nationwide Children’s Hospital has tripled the pace at which it licenses or spins out technology developed by its researchers since starting a concerted commercialization effort three years ago.

The Columbus hospital had about two or three deals a year in 2010-2012, but has had nine in each of the last two years, said Matt McFarland, recruited as director of technology commercialization in spring of 2012 from Purdue University.
