Akron‘s Tobin Buckner fills new job at JumpStart to aid entrepreneurs in the area

JumpStart Inc., a nonprofit that invests in Northeast Ohio ventures, has named a local man as its first Akron entrepreneurial community manager.

Tobin R. Buckner, 44, who previously focused on minority businesses in his job at the Akron Urban League, has been named to the post designed to strengthen ties between JumpStart and the area’s entrepreneurs and small businesses. Buckner previously was director of the Partnership for Minority Business Accelerator at the Urban League.

In his new job, Buckner will work with groups in Summit and surrounding counties that assist entrepreneurs and small businesses, and identify ways to boost entrepreneurial efforts and help them succeed.
