Miami students’ startup snags $319K on Kickstarter

Michael Markesbery and Massimiliano “Max” Squire met on a sixth grade field trip to King’s Island while students at Indian Hill.
Since then, they’ve climbed mountains together, even run with the bulls in Spain.
Now another adventure begins: running a business.
Over the last month, 904 backers invested in their high-tech outerwear jacket line called Lukla via the crowdsourcing website Kickstarter to the tune of $319,320, surpassing their $100,000 goal in less than two days.
