Venture for America wants to grow program placing grads with startups

Venture for America is conducting one of three national job fairs in Columbus on Friday to match top college graduates with fast-growing tech startups in emerging cities.

The New York city nonprofit screens both recruits and the companies where it places them in two-year commitments. Columbus joined Cleveland and Cincinnati in the 16-city program last year, and five fellows are about to start their second year with startups in Columbus and Dublin.

“We’d love to get 10 or 12” for the second cohort, said Jason Tarre, startup partnerships manager who oversees the Columbus program.
