The Ohio Third Frontier initiative has awarded a Toledo, Ohio-based software start-up a $1 million loan designed to help fledgling companies obtain the resources to commercialize their products and get them to the marketplace.
Homeward Healthcare LLC, a two-year old company that is developing software aimed at identifying patients recently discharged from the hospital who are at risk of being readmitted, was one of just two firms approved to receive a Third Frontier Commercial Acceleration Loan.
The loan is designed to bridge the gap between an entrepreneur’s need for capital and the traditional sources of financing reserved for established businesses.
