A Cincinnati entrepreneur completed a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign to fund his solar-powered stove last year, and he’s turning to it for a second time instead of pursuing more traditional fundraising.
Patrick Sherwin raised $203,000 on Kickstarter for his GoSun stove in 2013 after setting out with a goal of raising just $40,000. That led to offers for investment and even caused ABC’s “Shark Tank” to approach him to be on the show. Sherwin turned all of that down and is now asking the Internet to help him crowdfund his new solar grill.
