This OTR accelerator is ready for its next class

An Over-the-Rhine business accelerator that wants to give a boost to the area’s residents along with the neighborhood as a whole graduated its first class of entrepreneurs, and it’s already accepting applications for its second.

Mortar was created by three OTR entrepreneurs – Allen Woods, William Thomas and Derrick Braziel– to make sure longtime residents of the neighborhood weren’t left behind with its redevelopment. Its first class included a vegan Jamaican soul food restaurant, urban clothing store, handmade clothing line and Philly cheesesteak restaurant, among others.
