From the time he stepped on the jetway at Port Columbus International Airport, Matthew Helt spent Columbus Startup Week imagining if he would want to bring a startup to Central Ohio.

The Omaha, Nebraska-based program manager for Startup Week, Helt has brought the weeklong free entrepreneurial conference to other cities in its national expansion, but not this thought experiment. The Columbus event was the first time he’d be moderating the panel on how the host community measures up for five key components of a thriving entrepreneurial economy outlined by Up Global, the Seattle nonprofit behind Startup Week.
