Northeast Ohio is playing a sizable role in the future of advanced manufacturing in a variety of industries.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology earlier this month awarded $7.8 million worth of awards in the second round of its Advanced Manufacturing Technology Consortia program, and Northeast Ohio institutions are leading three of the 16. The program funds groups of businesses, trade groups, academic organizations and government agencies to create roadmaps and to identify needs in specific technologies.
