An Ohio State University spinoff has closed a $1.25 million investment round as it moves toward manufacturing its energy-harvesting smartphone case that extends battery life.
Nikola Labs LLC said Thursday the additional funding means it can make a promised January delivery date for cases to fit iPhone and Samsung Galaxy 6 models. The round was led by initial investor Ikove Capital Partners – which has offices in Columbus, New York City and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – and Proton Enterprises of Naples, Florida, plus individual investors.
