Chase grants of $300K to help food-based, Big Data entrepreneurs

More food-based small businesses will get training and more Big Data startups get help finding first customers and new hires under $300,000 in grants from JPMorgan Chase & Co. to entrepreneurial incubating nonprofits.

Economic and Community Development Institute, a microlender and adviser to small businesses, will receive $175,000 toward its Food Fort, a commissary and incubator for food trucks and artisanal food producers, and its Workplace Incubation Network, called WIN. Set to open this fall, WIN is an incubator to help established businesses grow to the next level, ECDI CEO Inna Kinney said.
