The surprisingly simple idea drilled into tech entrepreneurs’ heads at Rev1 Ventures Concept Academy

Rev1 Ventures started its Concept Academy one year ago to help entrepreneurs vet their ideas. Now the Columbus nonprofit that advises and funds tech startups says a year of data from six sessions has validated the concept.

The sessions include three full days plus homework for entrepreneurs to intensely research potential customers and competitors before building any product, so they build only what customers say they want. Just under one-third of the 150 Concept Academy attendees determined there indeed was demand for their ideas.
