Cincinnati tech company scores millions in capital

A Cincinnati startup that helps major corporations from McDonald’s to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center connect with diverse small businesses has raised millions from Techstars.

Mason-based ConnXus has raised $2.5 million in what CEO Rod Robinson is calling a “seed-plus” round. The round was led by Techstars Ventures and included funding from CincyTech, Serious Change L.P., Impact America Fund and several private angel investors.

“We’re going to be investing in sales resources (and) marketing. A ll of our growth to date has been organic and customer referrals,” Robinson told me. “We’ll be doing a lot of hiring in the sales and marketing area and we’ll need additional software engineers.”
