A Columbus company aims to whiten teeth not by bleaching, but by lighting them up.
In research mode for the past five years, SafeWhite Inc. aims to hit store shelves in about another year with a peroxide-free brush-on teeth whitener derived from marine proteins. It combats yellowing with a bluish bioluminescent protein that sticks to teeth with the protein that sea mussels use to attach to rocks.
