A graduate of the Brandery‘s class of 2014 has been acquired by a San Francisco retail data company.
Shelfie was acquired by San Francisco-based InfoScout for an undisclosed amount. Shelfie co-founders C.J. Acosta and Edward Betancourt will join Shelfie’s team.
Shelfie is a mobile app that allows consumers to take pictures of empty shelves in stores to allow retailers to know it’s time to re-stock and gives consumer packaged goods manufacturers real-time information about store stocking and supply issues. The app’s users earn points for taking pictures and can redeem them for rewards such as gift cards from brands that partner with Shelfie.
