Cincinnati startup lands big deal to study sweat for the Air Force

A Cincinnati, Ohio, tech startup that learns about people’s health from their sweat has won a contract worth nearly $1 million from the U.S. Air Force.

Eccrine Systems won an $860,000 contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop real-time, non-invasive sensing of sweat biomarkers. Those biomarkers can tell things like the hydration or combat-readiness of a pilot or detect the presence of drugs, alcohol or pollutants in the body.
