Xavier University is partnering with a Brandery company to learn about its students, measuring things like their heart rates and sleeping patterns, to see how the stress of college affects them and hopefully find a way to improve overall campus health.
Xavier, and all colleges, already have a lot of data on their students. Things like student IDs that also act as key cards or cash reserves let universities know when and where students eat and how often, how long they spend at the library and other things. But now Xavier is partnering with Brandery grad Strap on a pilot project to learn from data collected by wearable technology.
