3-D printer brings multi-dimensional success to Ohio University

Ohio University’s Innovation Center exists to help new-technology businesses get started and grow, and one of its most popular and successful services is 3-D printing. Although these systems are costly, more and more colleges and companies are using 3-D printers in design and manufacturing.

The Innovation Center’s $250,000 printer can create objects from a wide variety of materials. Upon being purchased two years ago, it was described as “the largest and most sophisticated 3-D printer acquired by Ohio University to date,” and Innovation Center Director Jennifer Simon confirms that’s still the case.
