Youngstown incubator manufacturing results

America Makes has funded more than 50 projects in the three years since it was founded in Youngstown, helping companies and institutions learn more about the processes and materials used in additive manufacturing.

The projects are helping to advance the study of additive manufacturing, or 3-D printing, across the country, but they’re also helping to create connections and boost the reputation of Northeast Ohio companies and colleges as experts in the field. America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, was the first such public-private partnership to be granted initial federal funding — with matching funds from the consortium — in August 2012.
