John Raden moved to Columbus from Chicago to lead Ohio State University spinoff Signet Accel LLC because he believes its data analytics software is the future for better health care – but part of the attraction was Central Ohio’s growing startup community surrounding the company.

The world is “starting to wake up” to the entrepreneurial blossoming around Columbus, especially in health IT, he said. Signet Accel increased sales by sixfold in its first full year, and other fast-growing startups in health-care tech include CoverMyMeds LLC, CrossChx Inc., Aver Inc. and Beam Technologies Inc.
