A company that wants to use technology to remake the dental care market is going after the growing number of independent contractors looking for individual dental coverage.
Beam Technologies Inc., maker of an an app-controlled smart toothbrush that collects data on how often and how long users brush, rolled out employer-based dental insurance in late summer. This week it launched individual plans, mainly targeting the self-employed and offered exclusively through online broker Stride Health Inc., a San Francisco startup.
