Training helps money-seekers in elevator pitch contests: Pitch U shows (photos)

Training, even just 30 minutes worth, helps entrepreneurs improve their chances of getting investment capital with a quick elevator pitch to investors.

“It’s roughly the same effect as having experienced pitching before,” said Dr. Scott Shane on Wednesday evening at JumpStart Inc.

That’s one of the findings reported to about 60 Northeast Ohio entrepreneurs, investors, educators and supporters of entrepreneurship education. Shane is working on research that explores elements of experiential entrepreneurship education – pitch competitions in particular.
