Brand Thunder joins forces with Canadian firm to bring more brands to browsers

A Columbus maker of custom browser extensions landed an investment from a complementary digital ad technology company and formed a partnership that could be a first step toward a merger or acquisition.

Brand Thunder LLC doubled active users of its custom browser tabs over the past year to 1.2 million fans of NFL teams and other brands. The fan downloads the custom theme for, say, the Denver Broncos, and every time a new browser tab is opened, the default is a splash page with photos, news and tidbits about the Super Bowl 50 champs.
