First Batch, the nation’s first business accelerator dedicated to physical products and local manufacturing, will expand its services and the number of firms it supports in 2016. After aiding from two to four teams annually, it will launch up to eight this year, thanks to grants from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile/U.S. Bank Foundation, the Duke Energy Foundation, TechSolve, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. It will add further emphasis on marketing, sales, and distribution to its existing programs.
