Explorys has won the Venture of the Year award from the Ohio Venture Association.
The Cleveland-based health data analytics software company made news when it was bought by IBM in April 2015. Over the next 10 months, Explorys added 80 new positions, bringing the total size of its staff to 220 people as of February.
The other two other finalists were CardioInsight and Veritix, according to a document provided by the Ohio Venture Association.
Both companies announced big deals last June: CardioInsight, a medical device company, was acquired by Medtronic. Veritix, the company behind the Flash Seats digital ticketing service used by the Cleveland Cavaliers, merged with Los Angeles-based AXS.
