Frameri in Cincinnati, Ohio, allows people to customize their eyewear by easily snapping prescription lenses into interchangeable frames. The company is working to change people’s perception of glasses as a necessary medical device into a personalized fashion statement. Frameri currently offers frames that fit four different lens shapes, with about 60 different styles of frames. The frames are sold on the company’s website, in retail eyewear shops, and in Frameri’s recently-opened boutique in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The company received investments from The Brandery and CincyTech, both southwest Ohio partners of Ohio Third Frontier.
