Ohio seeing ‘larger and better’ deals as VC investment outpaces national trend

Venture capital funds invested $373 million in 167 Ohio technology and biotech startups in 2015, a 16 percent increase over 2014 – but in fewer companies for a higher average deal size, says newly released annual research from VentureOhio.
Meanwhile Ohio-based VC funds closed the year with $296 million available to invest in young companies, a 22 percent increase over the prior year. The gain was in contrast to a 9 percent drop in available venture capital nationwide.
