Intellirod Spine of Akron, Ohio, has raised more than $1 million from a group of investors including Cincinnati’s Queen City Angel First Fund V and JumpStart Inc. of Cleveland.
The company has developed two sensor technologies designed to detect when spinal implant rods are bearing too much force: The LOADPRO, which senses when the rods are under strain during surgery, and ACCUVISTA, an implantable version designed to monitor strain following spinal fusion surgery.
