Local biomedical companies raised about $100 million in venture capital during the first half of 2016.

During four of the past five years, young biomedical companies raised between $97.7 million and $104.1 million during the first six months of the year, according to a new report from BioEnterprise. The only exception was the first half of 2013, when the figure fell to $79.1 million.
