There may be few parallels between nightlife here and New Orleans – other than Highball Halloween– but an Ohio State University office has successfully sold the city’s lively bar and restaurant scene, crowds of college students and general enthusiasm for tech to make Columbus the first expansion market for a fast-growing “crowdfinding” startup from Louisiana.
Scenehound LLC starts featuring Columbus bars and restaurants in its app on Feb. 27, starting along the High Street corridor and expanding outward. Patrons use the free app to report and find crowd size, wait times, even women-to-men ratios, while venues pay a monthly service fee to advertise with deals to draw users in.
