Cars.com LLC has turned to a Columbus advertising analytics startup to help it show auto dealers that it has at least as important a role as Google Inc. for car buyers’ research process.
Clarivoy Inc. could land a huge sales jump from the deal. For two months, Cars.com is paying the subscription fee for 400 auto dealers to add a plug-in that pulls Cars.com web searches into their Google analytics tool for measuring effectiveness of ad strategies. It’s smaller than the full suite of analytics that Clarivoy offers its current 100 customers, but the hope is the exposure leads to continued and wider software subscriptions.
