Founder Story: Soundstr

Soundstr in Cincinnati, Ohio, leverages audio recognition technology to collect information about music usage in businesses to help drive fairer licensing fees for artists. The company, founded by musicians, is developing a data-driven solution to the long-debated, complex issue of royalty payments between record labels and their artists. Soundstr received early seed funding and mentorship from The Brandery, a nationally-ranked business accelerator and a southwest Ohio partner of Ohio Third Frontier. In 2016, Soundstr received additional support to continue growing from CincyTech, another Third Frontier partner in southwest Ohio helping high potential technology companies.
