Fuel up with National Doughnut Day this Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. with free donut holes from the Butler County Donut Trail at John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons. Butler County boasts 10 mom-and-pop doughnut shops worth traveling south to explore.

If you feel the need to increase your step count to work off the doughnuts, you’re in luck, with two new hiking trails in Hocking Hills State Park. Whispering Cave and Hemlock Bridge, the park’s first swinging bridge, are the newest features now open free to hikers in this state park 40 miles southeast of Columbus.
