Cleveland Clinic helps test a device that reduces stroke risk

When the Cleveland Clinic’s Dr. Samir Kapadia explained aortic valve replacement to patients, the benefits of a better functioning heart were clear. But he also warned that the procedure could cause a stroke.

Now Kapadia can tell patients that, thanks to a medical device that the Clinic helped test, the risk of stroke after aortic valve replacement has dropped significantly.
