Cincinnati audio technology startup Lisnr wants you to be able to use your smartphone for, well, just about everything.

Lisnr uses audio to transmit information. That sounds simple enough, but it’s doing some pretty cool things with it. The Cincinnati startup began by using its inaudible smart tones to unlock additional content in music. For instance, the tones could be embedded in a recorded song and, when “heard” by a smartphone, unlock a behind-the-scenes video.
