DOWNTOWN AKRON — BOUNCE was unveiled recently as an innovation hub and part of Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan’s innovation-based economic development strategy to create jobs for the future, catalyze innovation and support local entrepreneurship in Akron.
According to the mayor, BOUNCE — located at 526 S. Main St., the current site of Akron Global Business Accelerator, which houses the Bit Factory and the city’s business accelerator and incubator services — will include a maker space, co-working space, café, business development tools, classrooms and mentorship services.
It will be a place where creative minds and established companies can collaborate and engage with each other through “curated collisions,” and use an open innovation model with programming that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, corporate executives, students and others in various sectors engaged in innovation, or those that want to be, according to city officials
